All patients are Bulk-billed for Medicare eligible services upon presentation of a current Medicare Card.
  
APPOINTMENTS:
To reduce waiting time, patients are to ring 9703 1322 to make an appointment before attending the clinic as patients with appointments are given priority.
 
Patients can attend without an appointment during most times as there is usually a doctor available to see patients without appointments.

SERVICES PROVIDED:
 

Women’s health – female doctors available on weekends and after hours, cervical cancer vaccinations readily available, antenatal care

Men’s health – specialist heart and prostate checks;

Children’s health – childhood immunisation, common illnesses, developmental problems

Older patients – health assessment, care plans, disabled parking, wheelchair access,

Occupational medicine – injury management eg.  Suturing / x-ray/ plaster/ pain relief and also flu vaccination and pre-employment medicals

Mental health – supportive counselling and prescription medicines

 
RESULTS:
In the interest of strict confidentiality, test results are best given to the patient in person. Receptionists are not qualified to give results, so it is advisable to see the doctor who ordered the tests for the results.  An appointment can be made for this.
 
When tests are performed it is the patients responsibility to contact the clinic for an appointment.  Never assume that because you have not heard from the doctor or clinic that tests results are normal.
 
REMINDERS:
Our practice is committed to preventive care.  Your doctor will seek permission for you to be put on our reminder system.  We may issue you a reminder letter from time to time appropriate to your care.  If you do not wish to be part of this system, please let your doctor or reception know.
 
TELEPHONING THE DOCTOR:
We understand that there may be times when you need to speak to your regular doctor.  If the doctor is with a patient, a message will be taken and your call returned at the doctor earliest convenience.
 
HOME VISITS:
Home visits are available for are regular patients whose condition prevents them from attending the clinic.  These visits are at doctor’s discretion.
 
AFTER HOURS CARE:
Outside our normal operating hours, treatment is handled by The Valley Private Hospital Ph: 9795 7700, who will contact your doctor the following day.  A service fee will be charged.  Alternatively contact our Locum Service on 9429 5677.  Fees may be payable.
 
In an EMERGENCY, an ambulance should called.  Phone 000.
 
ETHICAL CODE:
All of our Doctor’s follow the AMA’s Code of Ethics.
 
PRIVACY:
This clinic follows the Federal Privacy Policy Act incorporating 10 National Privacy Principles that set out rules for handling personal information in the private sector.
